Table Update as of 11/23

The 2009 MLS Cup was decided, European leagues resumed and it was a record day for one EPL team. Here is a look at this past week's action and the current standings in England, Italy & the US.

MLS:
 - MLS Cup 2009 - Real Salt Lake shocked the US soccer world by upsetting the LA Galaxy in the final and becoming the first sub .500 team to win the crown. Led by their MVP goalie Rimando and captain Kyle Beckerman, RSL finished their incredible streak with their first MLS trophy. RSL were the last team to make it into the playoffs in the 8th seed. They then went on to knock off the 2008 champions, the Columbus Crew, defeat the Chicago Fire on the road, and then take down the superstar squad of LA. LA linked up for a great first half goal between Bechkam-Donovan-Magee but saw it slip away during PKs. Overall it was a great showpiece game for the MLS which started the season off strong with the introduction of Seattle.

EPL:
Past week's results - ManCity and Liverpool drew 2-2 as each club continue to miss opportunities - Chelsea held strong form with a 4-0 win over Wolverhampton - Sunderland surprised Arsenal 1-0 who were missing Van Persie - Tottenham had a record setting day as they throttled Wigan 9-1 and saw Defoe tally 5 goals alone.
Current EPL Table - After 13 rounds Chelsea remains on top with 33 points, 5 ahead of rivals Manchester United - Tottenham's 9 goals helped move them into a tie with Arsenal for 3rd place - After a great run last year Everton has fallen to 14th in the table - With a 3-3 draw West Ham and Hull City both climbed out of the relegation zone and were replaced by Bolton in the bottom three.

Serie A:
Past week's results - Saturday saw Inter earn 3 points with a win and Fiorentina drop the points 3-2 to Parma - AC Milan and Cagliari faced off in the most entertaining match of the Serie A weekend in which Milan won 4-3 - Roma and Juventus also picked up the full points with wins over Bari and Udinese, respectively.
Current Serie A Table - The top 3 stayed in place Inter (32), Juventus (27), Milan (25) - Sampdoria got off their skid to earn their 1st win in 4 matches and climb back into 4th place - Towards the bottom of the table Lazio leads a 4-way tie from 15th to 18th at 12 points.

With the World Cup Qualifying, as well as the MLS and USL season's officially wrapped up its time to switch our full focus to Europe as league play and Champions League heats up before the winter break.
