World Cup Break - US Open Cup Update

Even though there were some spectacular results today in South Africa I will wait and cover those tomorrow along with Thursdays games. In the meantime I wanted to update everyone on the US Open Cup - America's version of the FA Cup.

After a few qualification matches and tournament the field was narrowed down to 40 clubs placed into the 2010 US Open Cup Bracket. 32 non-MLS teams play two rounds of games over June 15th and 22nd and then the remaining 8 clubs are placed in the final 16 of the cup with the 8 qualifying MLS teams.

Important Results From Round 1 to Note:
 - Tampa Bay Rowdies 3-0 over Legends FC
 - Miami FC 5-1 over Central Florida Kraze - Biggest score line from round one and Miami's biggest output of the year.
 - AC St. Louis 1-0 against Des Moines Menace - St. Louis extended their club win streak to two!
 - Richmond Kickers upset Crystal Palace Baltimore 1-0 knocking out the first USSF D2 club.

Key Round 2 Match-ups:
 - Miami FC vs. Tampa Bay Rowdies
 - AC St. Louis vs. NSC Minnesota Stars
 - Charleston Battery vs. Carolina Railhawks
