Soccer Table Update as of 2/15

EPL:
 - Past week's results - A pack of mid-week games to make way for the FA Cup over the weekend and the UEFA Champions League this week. On Tuesday, Manchester City headlined the action with a 2-0 win against Bolton. Fulham got off the slide with a 3-0 victory over Burnley, who has been struggling lately. The biggest draw of the week was the top 4 battle between Arsenal and Liverpool. Arsenal came into the game having lost to both Chelsea and ManU, but came through with a strong performance and a 1-0 win. Manchester United lost Nani to a red card early in the game, but held on for a 1-1 draw against Aston Villa. Chelsea failed to pull away from ManU and fell to Everton 2-1.
 - Current EPL Table - Chelsea (58) and Manchester United (57) remain one and two, but lost some of their lead as Arsenal's win over Liverpool brought them to 52 points. Liverpool's (44) loss kept them in a very distant fourth place, but Manchester City sits in the best position to grab the EPL's fourth UEFA CL spot. ManCity is also at 44 points, but has two games in hand over Liverpool. At the bottom of the table the relegation battle continues to be tight as 14th (West Ham) to 19th (Bolton) is only 2 points apart.

Serie A:
 - Past week's results - AC Milan got in an early game on Friday to have more time to prepare for their CL draw against ManU, and secured three needed points in a 3-2 win over Udinese. On Saturday, red hot AS Roma continued their run with a 4-1 victory against Palermo. Sunday saw bottom of the table Siena get just their fourth win all season (out of 24 matches) 1-0 against Chievo Verona. The weekend ended with surging Napoli getting an impressive point from league champions Inter Milan, 0-0.
 - Current Serie A Table - Inter's draw kept them comfortable in first place at 54 points, seven ahead of second place AS Roma (47). AC Milan sit just two points back at 45, but have a game in hand over Roma and Inter. The remaining European positions remain close with Napoli (39) ahead of Sampdoria (39), on goal differential, and Juventus (38) in 6th place. Siena's surprise win didn't pull them out of relegation zone (still 8 points out), but has to be great for the fans who are suffering through a tough season.

FA Cup:
 - The FA Cup fifth round was held this past weekend with four wins and four draws. Birmingham City, Chelsea, Fulham, and Portsmouth all defeated lower tier teams to advance to the final eight. Four match-ups ended in a draw and will require a replay on February 24th - Crystal Palace/Aston Villa, Manchester City/Stoke City, Bolton/Tottenham, Reading/WBA. The sixth round of the FA Cup will take place over the March 6th/7th weekend. Here is a look at the upcoming match-ups, including Chelsea vs. the ManCity/Stoke City winner.
